Important Note:

You must be in the AALS database and have an AALS login and password to register. If you have tried but are unable to register, check to see if you are in the AALS database. Click the registration button below, enter your school email address, and click “Forgot Password.”

  • If you are in the database, you will receive instructions to create or change your password. Do so, then try again to register.
  • If you do not receive an email, you are not in the database. Please contact your Dean’s office to be added to your school’s AALS Law School Roster. Once added, you should be able access your AALS account and register online.

Registration Confirmation 

After you register online, you will receive two email confirmations within a few minutes. One of them will contain information about reserving a guest room in the conference hotel. If you lose track of these emails later, we can re-send them through the registration system.

Cancellation Policy 

The registration fee will be refunded in full for cancellations received by May 31; no refunds will be given after May 31. Please contact AALS Registration to cancel your registration.

Accepted Forms of Payment

We strongly encourage you to register online with a MasterCard, Visa, Discover, or American Express.

If special circumstances prevent you from doing so, you may pay via check or credit card with a paper form submitted by fax to (202) 872-1829, or by regular mail to:

AALS does not accept payment by electronic deposit or wire transfer.

Transferring a Completed Registration to Someone Else

If you have registered but are unable to attend the Workshop for New Law Teachers, you may authorize the transfer of your registration to another faculty/staff member at your law school to attend in your place. Requests for a registration transfer must be emailed to the  Registration team and sent from the person currently registered. This authorization must arrive at AALS by May 24, 2024. Include the name of the individual who will receive the registration in your place.

There is no fee to transfer your registration

Onsite Registration

All registrations received after June 5, 2024 are considered onsite registrations and are subject to an additional charge of $50. Plan to register onsite if your registration will not arrive at AALS by May 31st. When you register onsite at the Workshop, AALS accepts cash, personal or school checks, American Express, MasterCard, and Visa.

Register Yourself/Individual Registration vs Register Someone Else/Group Registration

In Register Yourself, a user can register only themselves for an event. If you are registering yourself (and only yourself) for the Workshop, use the “Personal Registration” link.

If you are registering others (or yourself and others) for the Workshop, use the “Register Someone Else/Group Registration link. Using  Register Someone Else, a user can register any faculty/staff member from their law school for the chosen event.

Both types of registration require your AALS username and password to access. Please refer to the Group Registration section below to learn more about registering one or more people for the Workshop.

Does AALS offer a one-day registration fee?

No, we do not offer a one-day registration or per-session fee. Registration is for the entire workshop.

What does my registration fee include?

Your registration fee includes all workshop sessions, luncheons, reception, and hospitality events described in the workshop brochure.

Do I receive the AALS member school rate?

You can check to see if your school is an AALS member or fee-paid school on the AALS Member Schools page.

How can I make additions or changes to my registration?

Login to the online registration system and add sessions, workshops, etc. to your registration once it has been completed.

Registering Someone Else/Group Registration

Use this type of registration to register one or more attendees other than yourself. This registration method can be used by faculty and administrative staff, and can register an unlimited number of attendees at a time. If you are a faculty member only registering yourself, please go back to Individual Registration.

Please note that this is not a discounted registration; each attendee will be registered at the per-person rate.

Need to register someone whose name does not appear in the system?

First, contact your Dean’s Office to ensure that the faculty/staff member is listed on your school’s AALS Roster. If you need additional assistance, please email the AALS Registration team.

Registration Confirmation 

Each registered person receives two emails within a few minutes: one with a registration confirmation and one with information about reserving a room in the conference hotel. If a registrant loses track of these emails later, they should email the AALS Registration team and ask to re-send them through the registration system. 

As the person using the group registration system, you will receive both the itemized invoice and the hotel instructional emails.

Payment Methods

AALS accepts all major credit cards. We do not accept payment via electronic deposit or wire transfer.

The billing address on the payment page may already be populated with an address. Do not change this address, even if it is not tied to the credit card you are using for payment. This address refers to your school’s billing address with AALS.

If you receive the error “Item Not Found” when submitting payment, the credit card information has been entered incorrectly. It does not mean that the card has been declined. Please double check that you have entered the card information correctly.
